Where to eat in Baguio
Last weekend, I went to Baguio out of impulse and it turned out to be a whirlwind of 24-hour gastronomical adventure! If you plan to head to Baguio next month for Panagbenga, here's a list of restaurants and their bestsellers that you have to try!
I always drop by here every time I visit Baguio but their menu has changed since the last time. They've
limited their offering to mostly breakfast meals and I wasn't able to order my favorite adobo flakes. If you want a heavy meal, I'd recommend the Ruin's breakfast. It comes with smoked Baguio-style longganisa, fresh tomatoes, eggs, rice, bowl of fruits and coffee. Their Rizal's Tsokolate is also perfect for cold mornings. I paired mine with ensaymada (though I'd prefer Mary Grace's cheesier version).
Forest House - Black and White Torte, P120
The place itself is a sweet treat. It's very cozy and Christmas decoration made it even more festive and perfect for holiday gatherings. Veranda seats which gives you a spectacular view of mountains and pine trees are also available for those who want fresh air. Aside from the ambiance, Forest Hill's Black and White Torte is a sweet delight to to behold. It's a fusion of cheese and chocolate, topped with a concoction of mint and cocoa.
Kizno - Strawberry shortcake; P85
Hill Station - Death by Chocolate; P115
Housed in Casa Vallejo, Hill Station offers a very chic log cabin ambiance. It has huge French windows which brings in a lot of natural light complete with high ceilings for a breathy old-century experience. It is a great place to just chill and enjoy the view of the pine trees. And what to order? Their best-selling dessert is the Death by Chocolate. Take a slice a bite and enjoy the burst of chocolate goodness topped with vanilla ice cream.
